A Swimsuit Guide To Help Every Body Worry

There are so many awesome beachwear choices to choose from and sometimes it can be difficult to tell which is most suitable for us. It can even get confusing when we try to shop according to body shapes. So Instead of sorting by whether you’re an apple or pear shape, here’s a short guide to help with some of these more general body worries when shopping for swimsuits!

1. Chest

Busty
For the top-heavy girls, underwire, adjustable straps and bra cup sizes (not the normal sizes of S, M or L) will be your best friends. They offer the support needed to help you keep your girls in place and also help to lift your chest. Design details such as halters with wide bands under the breasts, high armpits and necklines also offer additional support.

Small
Look for tops that have embellishments, ruching, ruffles or frills, they add drama to your bust area and give the illusion of a fuller chest. You could also opt for a suit with some padding for a little something extra!

2. Butt and thighs

Flat
Another time when frills, ruching and ruffles come in handy for somewhere that needs a little more drama. Give the illusion of a bigger behind with brightly coloured bottoms or loud prints. You could also get away with showing a little of your butt cheek because no, that’s not cheeky at all. (Just couldn’t resist the pun, sorry)

Big
String bikinis and high-cut swimsuits can often be a tad too revealing and maybe even uncomfortable for bootylicious girls. Minimise that constant tugging and pulling on your bikini bottom by opting for those that offer more butt coverage. Divert attention away from your thighs with pops of colours, interesting necklines and even decorations like embellishments above the waist. Avoid boy shorts, which can pinch the skin.

3. Broad shoulders

Look for swimsuits with designs or necklines that help to divert some of the attention away from them. Asymmetrical necklines work well in drawing the eyes up and away instead of straight across, halter necks breaks up the neckline to balance out your proportions, and solid-coloured suits with panels along the sides help to create the look of an hourglass figure.

4. Torso

Short
Elongate your torso by choosing low-rise bottoms, and choose halter necks to draw attention to your neck.

Long
Break up the length of your torso by driving more attention to your chest and hips with bikinis that come in loud prints or colours. You can also opt for a one-piece option with a high cut to break up the length of your torso.

5. Tummy

Bottoms that come in high-waisted or peplum styles will help in taking some attention away from your middle while still making you feel super sexy. If you are shy about showing your tummy, choose tankinis or one-piece suits with ruching to help conceal the mid-section, or those with plunging necklines to draw the eyes upwards.
