Back-to-School Quick Makeup Tips

Having one of those days where you hit the Snooze button so many times and wake up with a shock at how late it has become?

For those who simply don’t have the luxury of time to prepare for school, here are some useful makeup tips to help you look put together and be on time for classes as well:

  1. Eyebrows On Fleek

If eyes are the window to the soul, then your brows are the curtains that shape your soul. When you’re rushing but still have to put those brows on, you could consider using brow powder instead of brow pencil that requires a lot of time and precision. Simply apply brow powder, comb through your brows to even out the look and (an extra step) use concealer to sharpen the edges of your brows and you’re pretty much good to go.

Tip: Make sure to thread/ pluck your wild brow hairs beforehand so that you won’t panic in the morning over defining your brow shape!

2. No Foundation Needed

Simply use a concealer to cover up your pimples, dark circles or any redness instead of using foundation that will create an extra step of blending for you. Not using foundation will also help you look less cakey and more natural for school while still concealing those blemishes.

3. Brown, Not Black!

Opt for a brown eyeliner pencil instead of a black felt/brush liner. Brown colour gives the eyes a softer look while a pencil is more forgivable with no need to be too precise. After lining your eyes, you can smudge the outer edge to give yourself a soft winged look.

4. Creating a Routine

Formulating your own makeup routine definitely helps (as from personal experience) to make sure that you haven’t forgotten any steps while quickly doing up your makeup. As for me, my usual routine would be: brows, concealer, mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, lipstick.

Over time, when you repeat the same steps over, it becomes much quicker and simpler to get ready for school without feeling like you’re missing something out.

Overall, just keep in mind that the aim is to create a routine that allows you to look awake for school without sacrificing too much of your sleep. (Oh, the daily struggle of a student!) Hopefully these tips will send you on your way to feeling confident and ready to conquer another day of lectures and tutorials. Good luck!
