Boho Chic

ZALORA X HOW DO I LOOK

A trend that has been around for a while now, what started with hints of the ’60s magical era of short dresses, hypnotising prints and round sunglasses quickly transitioned into a more ’70s take on boho chic. Now into the second season of celebrating the ’70s fabulous flair for fashion, there is less of a babydoll silhouette and more of hippy laidback chic that Jane Birkin and Jerry Hall would be proud of.

Fall ’15 has given its own spin on the boho chic trend by lowering the hems to a more relaxed midi calf length. Don’t let that trick you into thinking that fashion has put its reserved hat on though — it certainly hasn’t. Instead, designers at Burberry Prorsum inserted a cheeky side split into the floaty dresses, while over at Topshop Unique, printed silk dresses are worn with knee-high boots and floppy fedora hats — boho chic nailed. Chloe, of course, is one of the queen houses of boho chic and continues to be with a Fall collection that consists of prints that are a little more fabulous — with tones of burnt orange, mellow yellow and light brown throughout.

MANGO’s campaign featuring Kate Moss (the queen of boho chic) and Cara Delevingne really embraced the ’70s style with printed maxi dresses and fringed suede jackets. TOPSHOP has taken more of a tomboy flair to the ’70s styling, with ribbed polo necks, suede high-waisted skirts and lace-up block kitten heels all being big focuses. With so many designer and high-street brands zoomed in on the ’70s boho trend this season, it makes nailing the look that much easier!
