Fall! The season of crunchy leaves, cooler breeze and chunky sweaters is upon us. Clichés aside, there is much to do this time of year. So go ahead, embrace the pumpkin spice obsession and try a few of these to-do’s for fall.
1. Fall-ify your summer clothes
Don’t pack away your summer tops and dresses just yet. Challenge yourself to styling your summer wardrobe differently so that your summer tops and dresses can stick around for a few more weeks. Be creative — layer sweaters on top of dresses, or add a cozy scarf on top of your ensemble for extra warmth.
2. Organize a “friendsgiving”
American or not, make November the month to gather with friends and feast on scrumptious, hearty food. Because with the cooler weather and thicker clothes, a little holiday weight won’t hurt right? Go all out with hosting a “friendsgiving” meal, a.k.a. Thanksgiving with friends — décor, menu, theme and all. It’s never too early to get into the holiday mood, wouldn’t you say?
3. Make the perfect hot drink
Nothing is as comforting as a hot drink on a chilly weekend morning. And nothing elevates that experience as much as the perfect, oversized coffee mug. Step One — Scout out Etsy or your local home ware store for a giant mug that tickles your fancy. Step Two — Fill mug with coffee or tea of choice. Step Three — Take a comforting sip and never leave the house for the rest of the day.
4. Embrace the earlier sunsets
With the sun setting a lot earlier these days, make the most out of the longer evenings — take a breezy post-dinner walk or a cozy movie night-in. Candles are also always a good idea this time of year.
