Just because we live in climates which are not-so-cold, does not mean that we can’t take a fashion page or two out of this year’s Fall/Winter collections. Even if thick jackets or overcoats do not sit well in tropical conditions, there’s a lot more we can experiment with. There’s a whole world of hues and patterns just waiting to become a part of our wardrobes.
1. Pretty In Pink:
Allow the various hues of pink: fuscia, flamingo, watermelon, coral and many others, to invade your wardrobe, just like it did the runway this year. Hyperfeminity continues to make waves in the fashion world. If Spring Summer 2016 was all about lacy gowns of the olden days, this Fall Winter the colour pink acts as a marker of all things girly.
2. Pinstripes:
No, it is not just your father who can wear pinstripes to office everyday. While definitely one of the more formal patterns out there, just about anyone can wear pinstripes. Producing an instant slimming effect due to its longitudinal style, pinstripes can be rocked on just about any garment-whether its a formal shirt or a shift dress.
3. Very Large Chokers:
Never mind your apparel-allow your accessories to do the talking for you. Statement chokers are your best friend when it’s a lazy fashion day. Just slip on one of these gargantuan beauties around your neck when you’re feeling too sluggish to put in effort into your dressing, and voila! This eye-grabbing piece of jewellery is all you need to make heads turn.
4. Floral For Fall:
If florals for spring wasn’t groundbreaking enough, florals for winter definitely is! Move over floral sundresses-long floral maxi dresses and jackets are here to stay. In line with the season’s theme of hyperfeminine, this year’s runway was all about clashing flowery motifs, sometimes all on the same garment.
5. Biker Chic:
Here’s a style that the tomboys-at-heart will surely love! Tough as hell yet surprisingly chic these leather and latex numbers with their over-the-top embellishments and cartoonish prints exuded androgyny at its best.
