1. What made you want to be a part of MMAZM?

I happen to randomly come across an Instagram post by chance and my Friend jokingly told me to give it a try since I enjoy for posing for the camera. I didn’t give it much thought, it was just to try out my luck!

2. Name three of your favourite models. Why do you look to them for inspiration?

I have a thing for Asian models. My top three would be Soo Joo, Ahn Ahreum and Go Gayoung. I look up to them as an inspiration as they’re not exactly your cookie cutter type models, they all have an outstanding sense of style and bring their own respective colour to the scene. Plus all three of them have a distinct feature about them that I like- lazy eyes. I don’t know how if you get what I mean but you know those dreamy yet lazy looking gazes that will have you pulled right in!!

3. What makes you unique?

I’d say my height because I’m tiny and models are generally really tall but other than that I think it’s the fact that my eyes are pretty big!

4. Did you have prior modelling experience before joining MMAZM? If so, do share!

Not exactly but I used to model for Fox Kids a really long time ago! I also tried out The New Paper New Face.

5. Have your family and friends been supportive of you entering MMAZM?

I haven’t told my family anything yet, only my best girlfriends know. They’ve always been supportive in whatever I wanted to do.

6. Who are some of the designers you would love to work with?

As a fashion student, I’d give you a list that’ll go on forever but as of now my current obsessions are J Koo, RShemiste, Kaal E Suktae, Low Classic and Calvin Klein.

7. Your favourite things to do in your free time?

I like to dance! Picked it up when I was three, never stopped since.

1. What made you want to be a part of MMAZM?

Well originally I was introduced to it by someone else, and when I took a look at it I thought it was really cool. I always love the whole concept of taking a random group of people and making something of them? Kind of like the Selection Series by Kiera Cass. It’s also such a great way to meet loads of different people from many different places and that’s always fun. Alongside that, it’s such an amazing opportunity to be a part of, and if there’s something I love it’s being a part of really cool projects (and such), that involve travelling.

2. Name three of your favourite models. Why do you look to them for inspiration?

Josephine Skriver — Because she always seems so positive, fit, and motivated and if there’s something I need it’s someone positively telling me to keep going.

3. What makes you unique?

By being me I am already unique in most ways. Being a child of a mixed marriage my thoughts and how I adapt to different situations is unlike those who have grown under only one culture. I’ve had to learn to take what one parent is teaching me, and what the other parent is teaching me, then balance it out, and figure out which applies to which setting best. What makes me even more unique is that instead of looking at the downsides of this life (how there’s not many who will really understand what it feels like to be in my shoes), I’ve chosen to look at the pros, and use this mixed background to my advantage. My favourite example is how in Indonesian culture, you’re taught to always respect your elders, but through my western “lens” I’m able to also have a sense of free speech. Using both those, I develop a skill to speak my thoughts, but in a more respectful tone, and at the right time and place.

4. Did you have prior modelling experience before joining MMAZM? If so, do share!

Yes actually, only a little bit.
I joined this “cover girl” kind of competition when I was 14. I got into the top 20 finalists. Then I focused on school for the next three years, until recently I was scouted by an agency.
And currently I’m in a “development stage” with W Models agency, and just kind of taking little jobs here and there.

5. Have your family and friends been supportive of you entering MMAZM?

Originally, I wasn’t so big on telling them, because I honestly didn’t think I would get this far, so I didn’t want to really make it a big deal in case nothing came out of it. But I ended up telling them anyway, and they were really cool about it and would listen to me when I talked about it. And they were super excited when I told them I had gotten week 3 winner. That’s when they started asking for more info haha.

6. Who are some of the designers you would love to work with?

Again, I’m still really new to all this so I’m not really educated in the whole designer world, most of my knowledge comes from my sister. But I guess:

 Christopher Bailey
Olivier Rousteing
 Alexander Wang

7. Your favourite things to do in your free time?

I really like to write. I have this book that I write a lot in. Sometimes just little sentences, or sometimes whole poems. If I feel really strongly about a subject I write blogs about it. And when I have the time, I write in my journal.

I love reading books. If I go to a mall, you’ll most likely find me checking out the bookstore first.

I also am really into film. So I kind of like to learn little editing tricks, or watch behind the scenes things to see how films get made. I like listening to music and picturing how I would make a video out of it, or what kind of video I would use this music for.

Cuddle with my cat. Or hangout with my closest friends.

Congratulations to the winners of Week 3. Stay tuned to find out who next week’s winners are!
