Move over matte make-up! Glowy, pearly-faced skin is clearly gaining favourable ground over a flat visage. If you’re in the know, you’ll have noticed the emergence of highlighters everywhere, in a bid to achieve luminous skin. This might be especially problematic for those with oily or combination skin, and the usage of highlighters can add excessive shine to your already oily complexion.
Never mind all that unwanted shine-you can now achieve a pearly face with minimal usage of highlighters.
For best results, use a damp sponge to blend
Damp sponges are your best friend if you want to achieve a light, airbrushed look. Wet your sponge under running water and wring it out. To achieve complete dryness, wrap the sponge in tissue paper to get rid of any excess water that may remain. Apply the foundation directly onto your face, and use the sponge to dab and blend in any foundation that might be too thick.
Liquid highlighter and foundation: a match made in heaven
Convert a flat visage to a lovely, luminous one by mixing a few drops of the liquid highlighter of your preference with your foundation. Make sure to use small drops in order to prevent excess grease from the highlighting product.
Up your skincare regimen
If you want excellent skin, do not scrimp on your skincare regimen. Make up sits better on healthy skin, and you won’t even need a lot of make up to begin with, if your skin is well taken care of. An effective skin care routine does not necessarily mean a complicated one-a simple three step formula is effective enough. Just remember the three golden activities: cleansing, toning and moisturizing, and marvel at how fresh and clean your skin is.
Conceal those spots
Don’t go overboard with the concealer-cover up only the problematic parts of your face. Excessive product on your face will prevent your natural glow and radiance from shining through.
Begone, excess oil
A blotting sheet works wonders in getting rid of excess oil, after which you can add in more product. Removal of excess oil is crucial in the prevention of caking, and a cakey face does not look fresh or natural!
